In 2015 I had two shoulder surgeries so I have not played golf in a while. So, this past Saturday my husband and I decided to make a tee time and just take it slow and see how my shoulders did. Well, when we got to the golf course there were approximately 124 golfers that day. Needless to say I was quite nervous since I had not played in so long. They paired us up with two guys we did not know and I almost did not play. I did not want to hold them up or embarrass myself. I explained the situation to the two guys and they assured me I had no worries and it would be fine.
We took off on our golf carts and I did not play too badly the first couple of holes. I should have stopped then (: …the next few holes were horrible. I was not happy with myself and one of the guys we were playing with said “You live in this beautiful subdivision and you are out on a gorgeous day playing golf…what do you have to be upset about?” He was trying to make me feel better but it really got me to thinking about how fortunate we really are, and most of the time we take it for granted. I do have so much to be happy and thankful for in my life.
I challenge you all to take a good look at your life. I bet you can also find a lot to be happy and thankful for. I still say “A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work!!!!!”
